Seeing the Blue Pearl for the First Time

By The Spiritual Explorer

Dear Spiritual Explorer: In meditation today around 10:00 a.m. I saw the blue pearl for the first time ever. I felt extremely blessed and a sense of peace washed over me. What I find so baffling is that my husband’s uncle passed away at l0:05 a.m. I was not close with him but I have been spending a great deal of time with his family as of late. I’m just trying to understand the meaning of this. Sarah H., Angleton, TX

Dear Sarah: I wrote of the blue pearl in a previous answer, but am excerpting the pertinent parts for you here:
“The first time I heard of the blue light was when I read about Swami Muktananda who made many references to it in his writings. It is also known as the blue pearl, blue sphere, blue disc, blue angel, etc. Swami Muktananda personally referred to it as the blue pearl and called it the subtlest covering of the individual soul. He told us that when we see this tiny blue pearl in meditation, we must understand that we are seeing the form of the inner self and to experience this is truly the goal of our lives. At one point Swami Muktananda described how it expanded in front of him, engulfed him and carried him to other worlds. Swami Muktananda stated that it was a sign of awakened kundalini and that seeing it in meditation is like seeing the soul.

“In his book, Does Death Really Exist, Swami Muktananda speaks of how the blue pearl dwells in the 7th Chakra, the crown of the head. It is the body of the Self. All consciousness is contained in it and all of the dynamism of the breathing process comes from the blue pearl. When this light of the blue pearl departs from the body, consciousness departs also. Death is simply the name we give to the departure of the blue pearl from the body.

“It is also said that if one can see the blue light in their meditation, it is an indication of an advanced and pure soul. Many people have seen this blue pearl in their meditations and feel very blessed to have received this gift. I particularly loved reading that when we die, we shed this blue pearl as it is a covering of our soul. It is comforting to know that the soul can then shine forth in all its luminosity and we are eternal.”

So, Sarah, from the above written piece, it appears that you were fortunate to witness your uncle’s departure on a very deep level. We are very lucky when an experience such as you have recounted occurs for us. These remarkable moments confirm and renew our faith. Please convey my condolences to your family. Spiritual Explorer
