Dear Spiritual Explorer: I notice that one of the major ingredients in Mists of the Mother is majmua oil. Can you tell me more about this particular oil? Morris F.,Palm Springs,CA

Mists of the Mother

Dear Morris: Mists of the Mother is one of our top selling perfume oils and I know it is because it contains the fabulous majmua oil. Not only here at Ma’s India, but in India itself, the seat of divine spirituality, majmua oil is one of the most popular scents in India.

Majmua oil is a deep relaxing fragrance commonly used for meditation, prayers and also for pleasure. The essence of majmua was created by Mr. Ismail Mohammadali Attarwala, a master perfumer, who spent nearly 18 years perfecting his creation. Here’s the secret: It is an exquisite blend of woody, floral and musky perfume oils. In fact, the word majmua has become so popular that sometimes any fragrance is referred to as majmua.

During my research I have found out that majmua is actually an Arabic word that means “gathering,” and somehow majmua gathers in all of our senses when employing Mists of the Mother as an adjunct to meditation.

Mists of the Mother, true to its title, seem to catapult one into a remembrance, if we were so fortunate, of being at the breast of the Mother. There is that evocative scent where we feel comforted and embraced by her.

Try it; it is a haunting scent, one that you will always recall.
