Fragrance of the East: Live in India – Clearance

Recorded live at the Bharatiya Vidyapeeth Institute of Environmental Education and Research in Pune, India (Jan. 2004), Fragrance of the East showcases the intuitive interplay between sarod master Chinmaya Dunster and the Celtic Ragas Band. Like many of the other collaborations between Dunster and his band, the music on Fragrance of the East blends the upbeat, “folky” melody style of Celtic music with instrumentation from the east. The result is a very unique spin on Indian music that’s surprisingly accessible for everyone, including those who might not generally gravitate toward instruments like the sarod and tanpura. Fragrance of the East was designed as a tribute to the beauty and splendor of India’s natural landscape. Included with Fragrance of the East are bonus video clips from the performance.-
