“Vibrant,” “emotional,” “thought provoking” – these are the words that first come to mind when you are viewing the array of posters currently offered by Ma’s India. None of the posters are boring or run-of-the-mill. Each poster makes its own distinctive statement. You’ll wish we offered more. Recorded use of posters in public places goes back at least to the time of Shakespeare. These text only posters advertized plays and contained government edicts and proclamations. In 1870 color lithography was perfected and began to be popularly used by the printing industry. The process made mass production of posters possible. Today posters are a recognized art form. The famous 19th Century Parisian artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec recorded cabaret scenes on his posters, some of which hang in museums today. Posters now embrace diverse categories: advertising, comics, film promotion, politics and propaganda, railroads, events, boxing matches, concerts, classroom educational aids, and the popular cheesecake posters of celebrities and eye-catching people. Ma’s India’s posters all have a spiritual theme. We are sure you’ll enjoy our offerings. Send us a note if there is a subject you’d like to see. We’ll do our best to find it for you. –
