Introduction by Regina Sara RyanA collection of selected works of lesser-known sufi poets offered in praise of Rumi, who was perhaps the greatest mystical poet of all times, certainly the most prolific. His legacy includes over thirty thousand verses addressed to the Divine Beloved who dwells within each being. The poets represented in this collection were chosen for their resonance with the heart and soul of Rumi.Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi (1207-1273) was a master of Sufi tradition, the mystical branch of Islam. Through his masterful verse, Rumi shows us that not only could God be our Beloved, but that we are the beloved of God.
