Rasa is the duo of vocalist Kim Waters and multi-instrumentalist Hans Christian. With their mutual passion for Indian culture and sacred Hindi music, Rasa embarks on another musical exploration of devotional texts and Sanskrit chants with UNION. Although their sound is dominated by Indian instrumentation like the sarangi and the sitar, some of the earlier tracks like “Samsara” and especially “Hari Haraya” have a surprisingly Celtic feel to them reminiscent of Loreena McKennitt’s music. Other tracks are much more distinctly Asian and are sure to draw comparisons to Indipop favorite Deva Premal. The mellow music of this album is sure to please fans of the world fusion genre.
