
Saraswati, or ‘the flowing one’, is the goddess of learning, arts, culture, and creativity. She is usually seen playing the Vina. To this day, Saraswati is worshiped throughout India, and on her special day is worshiped by school childen as the patron goddess of learning. Saraswati is also one of the three great rivers along with the Ganga and the Yamuna. She is the wife of the great God Brahma, and her vehicle is a swan or peacock.
