  • Look at the marvThe stories about Radha and Krishna are legend and legendary. Radha was the love of Krishna’s youth. Radha did not want to live without Krishna so she regularly performed a puja to keep him at Vrindavan, running through the forests, playing with his friends, and in amorous pastimes with her. Jealous of Radha, the other women tried to hurt her by giving her a bowl of burning hot milk, saying Krishna had sent it to her. Radha drank it without pain. But, when the women then went to see Krishna he was full of painful ulcers. Krishna had taken all of Radha’s pain and miseries on himself, proving he resided within every pore of Radha’s being. Krishna said in praise of Radha: “Oh Radha! The locks of your hair curl beautifully. From your lotus-like face you gaze with elongated, restless eyes. Lovely large firm breasts adorn your chest while your waist is attractively slender. Your beautiful form is a festival of elegance and sweetness that crushes the vanity of the three worlds.” Our faux ivory statue captures Radha’s graceful beauty and Krishna’s love. You’ll enjoy having them near you to lighten and brighten your day. If you’d like to have a more colorful version of the couple, check out the Krishna Art Cards in our stationery section. –
