St. Therese of Avila Pewter Pendant with black corWhen she was 43 years old, St. Therese of Avila decided to create a new order of nuns dedicated to a life of poverty and prayer. For St. Therese, the contemplative life was a loving, even fun vocation. She was ordered to write her life story by the church. She described her divine visions, and the church decided that they were real experiences, granted her by God. In 1970 she was declared a Doctor of the Church for her writing and teaching on prayer, one of only two women to be honored in this way. Pewter pendant comes with black cord.
