Loveland is a collaborative project between Jai Uttal and Ben Leinbach that blossomed out of their work together for the 2005 album Pranayama. When recording that album, it occurred to both men that it might be interesting to flesh out the music (sans narration) to create a CD for inner harmony. The resultant album is Loveland and features a blend of Uttal’s rich mantra chanting and Leinbach’s illuminating tapestry of Indian drone instruments. The music has a subtle contemporary edge, evident in the Western-tinged rhythms and the way synthesizers are used to gloss up the natural instrumentation. The music on Loveland is useful for contemplation, the healing arts and spiritual awakenings.-
