What is a mala? Malas are commonly called prayer beads and are used in diverse religious traditions like Buddhism and Catholicism, and by Muslims and Sikhs. Malas are tools. They are designed to unite two parts of your being: your mind (which is so frequently busy, chattering, or distracted) and your innermost spiritual nature. As tools malas help you focus, become aware of action while concentrating on a soothing sound or prayers. You can also just wear your mala as a reminder. Each time you feel it or see it you refocus your mind briefly on your essential self. You can run through a wrist mala unobtrusively on a subway or standing in queues. In this way you bring your mantra into your daily life – an open eye meditation so to speak. Some people will hold their malas in their hands and do mantra as they go to sleep. You will find such a practice can lead to peaceful sleep. Discover your own way to use our White Bone Inlay Mala to enrich your spiritual practice. –
